Shelley-Ann Brown, Olympian, World Cup Champion and Motivational Speaker

Hailing from Pickering, Ontario, Shelley-Ann has been able to meaningfully engage in many of her life’s passions over the years. A strong believer in the principle of investing one’s talents, Shelley-Ann pursues all of her endeavours with gusto! While on a track and field scholarship at the University of Nebraska, Shelley-Ann earned All-American honours as a sprinter/hurdler and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and English. She served on many boards including the Multicultural Association, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and the Student Athletic Advisory Board.

Shelley-Ann earned her Masters in Educational Psychology in 2006 and during the process founded and directed Camp E.D.I.F.Y, a summer camp program for kids ages 5-12 in Scarborough Ontario.

She joined the Canadian National Bobsleigh team in 2007 and competed for 6 seasons, travelling the world on the World Cup circuit. Over the course of her career she has held 5 start records, won gold, silver and bronze world cup medals and was crowned “World’s Fastest Brakewoman” in 2012.

In 2010 she highlighted her career by representing Canada at the Vancouver Olympic Winter games and winning an Olympic Silver Medal.

Since then, she has become a keynote and motivational speaker, travelling across Canada to deliver messages of inspiration, perseverance and joy. Shelley-Ann is a great example of what can be achieved with hard work and determination. She has been described as a great role model to youth everywhere inspiring them to excellence, fairness, respect and hard work.

Shelley-Ann recently graduated from the University of Toronto with her Bachelor of Education degree and is now the Program Director of Studio 15, a non-profit, arts and recreation organization that services an at-risk neighbourhood in the GTA. She also plays the guitar and is one of the lead vocalists for her band InsideOut.
